In exploring an avenue toward my career goal that would allow me to keep with my current interests, I decided that real estate would best fit my personality.
I am interested in summer employment because I think it is important to supplement my academic studies through experiences in the food industry. Note that the next example is from a letter seeking an internship. Since employers who offer internships expect interns to be major beneficiaries of the internship experience, telling what the employer can do for you in an internship letter is not quite as egregious as when you are applying for a "real" job. Your focus in an internship letter, however, still should be on what you can contribute in the internship instead of how the internship will help you:
