Teen Job-Search Tutorial:
Expert Tools for High School Students

Using Resumes #2: You'll Also Need to Complete Job Applications

The typical high-school job-seeker with a resume will still need to complete a job application -- but having a resume with you should help you complete most of the application easily.

While you are gathering information for your resume, keep a separate sheet that contains information that does not go on your resume, but is required for most applications, such as names and contact information of former bosses/supervisors and the names and contact information for references.

Teen can use personal references if you have limited work experience -- such as a teacher, coach, or religious leader.

(You may not need it for the job application, but you'll want to have your social security number handy as you will need it once you get hired.)
