Dear Ms. Heller,
I am confident you remember me from last year when I was a finalist for the market research position in your department. While you chose someone else to fill the position, you told me how impressed you were with my credentials and interviewing skills.
I am writing today to update you on my career progress -- and to request your assistance in my current job-search.
For the past 18 months, I have been in the research department of Martha Stewart Living - Omni Media, where I have managed a number of important primary research projects. Unfortunately, because of turmoil within the organization, the research department is about to be drastically reorganized, and I am once again on the job market.
I am confident that my research experience, combined with my master's degree in marketing with an emphasis on market research, makes me an attractive candidate.
I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions you might have and I would love to meet with you and "pick your brain." I promise I won't take too much of your valuable time.
Thanks for your time. I will call you next week to see if we can find a time to reconnect.
Sincerely,
Scott Morris
