Career Sabotage Quiz Scoring Guide

by Randall S. Hansen, Ph.D.

Thanks again for participating in our Career Sabotage Quiz.

Scoring:
For each statement, give yourself the following point values:

Always True 5 points
Sometimes True 4 points
Sometimes False 3 points
Always False 2 points
Not Sure 1 point

Add up your score and find the degree to which you may be sabotaging your career:

75-100: Serious Sabotage. You may do great work, but you will never move forward with your career -- perhaps even with your life -- if you don't find a way to change your attitudes and behaviors and stop sabotaging your career.

50-74: Some Sabotage. You could probably be further along in your career if you did not do some of the sabotaging behavior you currently do. The good news is that you probably only need to change a few some attitudes and behaviors to see a major change in your outlook and how people view you.

Under 50: Slight Sabotage. You are probably in a good place in your career and in your life, though there may be one or two areas where you can improve -- especially if you responded with a few "not sures." Keep working at staying positive and always moving forward.
