Desribed as having a special focus on college students and recent college grads,
Quintessential Career and Job-Hunting Resources was named as one of the Monthly Hot Spots
by the University of Houston, Career Planning and Placement Center.
Listed as a Hot Site in the Spring 1997 issue of The Node, the
career-related newsletter of
Canada's National Graduate Register. The review states:
A great site with all sorts of career and job-hunting resources, advice about interviews,
résumés and cover letters.
In being selected as a Site of the Week (4/7/97) by the Bowling
Green State University Career Services Office, the Quintessential
Career and Job-Hunting Resources Guide was described as: A site
with resources from career experts on resumes and cover letters as well
as links to hundreds of career resources and job pages.
In being selected with a NBNSOFT Content Award, presented to
"the best that's newest on the Net," this site was given the following review:
This job-seeking guide by Dr. Randall Hansen of Stetson University doesn't stop by merely guiding you to the best online employment
resources - it shows you how to really make use of them. Many features are housed here including tips on how to write effective cover letters
and resumes, test your interviewing skills, find job leads, and promote yourself on the Internet. Also making this Guide a rare find...it doesn't
just lead you to U.S. resources, but rather, those located around the world!
In being selected as a Website of the Week (12/2/96) by
Prentice Hall's Learning on the Internet Partnership, the Quintessential Career and Job-Hunting Resources Guide
was described as: Randall Hansen is a marketing professor at
Stetson University and he has put together this complete job resource
guide that I encourage all of you to take a look at. Unlike many of
the other career sites on the Internet, the best part of this site is
that it is targeted mainly at new college grads. You will find well
written and detailed advice on each step of the job hunting process
from evaluating your marketability, to writing a good cover letter,
to writing a resume, interviewing, and finally locating the dream
job! Start at the top and work your way down - you should have a job
by the time you reach the end of this page.
This little, but useful, Web site is dedicated to the hordes
of youthful jobseekers disgorged onto the market every spring --
yes, recent college grads. The key to this site is its
explication of "the Domino Effect" -- which it turns out has
absolutely nothing to do with communisim in Southeast Asia
and everything to do with not ending up delivering pizza for the
rest of your life. The Dominos are the elements of an effective
job search -- miss just one and you miss the job opportunity. The
information here is of a basic nature, but basic is best when it comes
to actually getting a job. Many of the resources are actually
links to other Websites, but a bibliography on each topic is appended,
making this site a good starting point for both on and off-Web
searching.
