The College Application Essay(s)
If you haven't figured it out by now, the personal essay(s) you'll write are a critical part of your college applications.
We're almost at the special section of this tutorial devoted entirely to the college essay, so we won't waste your time here except to emphasize the importance of starting early, writing individual essays for each college (although you may be able to use a core component that you modify to the specific questions asked by each school), and committing to editing, rewriting, and proofreading before submitting.
Need help with any of the terms described on this page? If so, find the answers in our High School College-Bound and College Planning Glossary.
