Sacred Heart University was founded in 1963, and consists of four colleges: College of Arts & Sciences,
College of Business, College of Education and Health Professions, and University College. The second-largest
Catholic university in New England, SHU provides men and women with a comprehensive, hands-on
education rooted in the liberal arts and Catholic intellectual tradition. Ranked among
U.S. News & World Report's "Best Colleges in the North." Approximately 5,700 students
attend the SHU: 3,100 full-time undergraduates, 1,000 part-time undergraduates and 1,600 graduate students.
