Founded in 1868, Oregon State University is one of two universities nationwide with land, sea, space and sun grant distinctions. The 400 acre main campus is located in Corvallis, Oregon a small college town with 53,000 residents 80 miles south of Portland. OSU offers approximately 200 areas of study in the fields of science and natural resources, engineering, business, education, liberal arts and health and human sciences. OSU's 19,000 students actively participate in academic research and take advantage of the more than 300 campus student organizations and recreational opportunities available in Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley.     Alicia Ortega
    Alicia Ortega is Oregon State University's Senior Assistant Director of Admissions and Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment. She has a bachelor's degree in political science and Spanish from Oregon State University and a master's degree in educational policy, foundations and administrative studies from Portland State University. She has worked in college admissions for the past 10 years.

     

    Alicia is currently on the executive board for the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admissions Counseling as a delegate to the national assembly and has served on the planning committee for the Portland National College Fair for the past six years. She is a member of the National, Western, Pacific Northwest and Hawaii Associations for College Admission Counseling. She is writing a chapter for the upcoming AACRAO "College Admission Professionals Handbook" on Recruiting Hispanic Students.
