Recording Milestones and Memorable Moments of the Past Year

Printer-Friendly Version

by Darrell W. Gurney

Set aside a couple hours to relax with yourself and to mentally walk forward through the past year. Write down on a separate sheet of paper everything that occurs as a significant event or personal shift from your prior life (e.g., began public speaking, sang before 500 people, completed my attachment to the past by selling my house, etc.).

Allow yourself to err on the side of writing down too much (my list had 34 items), and give specific, measurable results when applicable. Spend an hour or more on this portion of the process alone, as it can be incredibly uplifting and validating. Milk it for all it's worth. Then, complete the following:

Accomplishments from this year that please you the most:

1.

2.

3.
