U.S. will see an unemployment rate of 5 percent before the year is out.

January new job creation in the U.S. takes a hit, as economy continues to slow.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employers added only 111,000 new jobs
in January (compared to the almost double 206,000 jobs added in December),
falling in line with economists predictions that economic growth will
be moderate at best in 2007.
Job gains were found at hospitals and nursing homes, bars and restaurants,
architectural and engineering firms, and accounting and bookkeeping firms.
Job losses occurred with factories, automotive companies, home builders,
furniture makers, telecommunications companies, clothing stores, and
hotels and motels.
The end-result was a rise in the nation's unemployment rate to 4.6 percent --
still extremely good, but the highest in four months.
