Tools to Help You Launch Your Own Business
Appendices to Your Business Plan
You're almost done!
The main sections of your business plan should be relatively short and provide just the information necessary for banks or investors to make informed decisions.
It is in the appendices, though, where you put all your supporting materials -- both for your benefits, as well as for those folks who want to see more of the hard data. Remember to only include materials that are relevant to your business plan.
What are the types of things you might put in your business plan appendices?
- Resumes of key personnel
- Detailed organizational chart
- Legal documents
- Letters of reference
- Personal financial statements and credit reports of founders
- Pictures of products, locations, etc.
- Mortgage or lease papers on all facilities
- Map of location(s) and trading area, including competitors
- Blueprints and floor plans of facilities
- Samples of marketing materials
- Details of the manufacturing process and machinery
- Market and competitive analyses
- Any other supporting documents
