The announcement of the purchase awards comes in the middle of a 10-college
tour and the celebration of the 10th anniversary of
the award-winning career Website. Quintessential Careers, founded in 1996,
is one of the most comprehensive career development sites on the Internet,
offering free information, tools, and resources for all job-seekers, from
teens to older workers.
The fifth annual presentation of the Quintessential Art of Business Purchase Award
was presented to senior art major Philip Anthony for his work, Manhattan.
The Quintessential Art of Business Purchase Award is the top award at the
Stetson University Student Art Exhibition. The winning
artwork becomes part of the university's permanent collection, and will be
displayed in the Lynn Business Center. "It's all about celebrating our
Stetson roots," states Hansen. "This purchase award allows us to give back
to Stetson by supporting current Stetson art students and by providing the
Business School with culturally enriching artwork that will be on permanent
display in the Lynn Center. Quintessential Careers is all about empowering
people, and I can't something more empowering than this gift."

The Hansens also provide a second purchase award, the Vera Hansen Purchase Award,
named in honor of the late Vera Hansen, Randall Hansen's mother. "My mom
was an avid art lover and enjoyed viewing and supporting young artists, so
this award in her honor continues her legacy," states Hansen. Now in its
second year, the Vera Hansen Award is also one of the top prizes in the
student art exhibition.
The second annual presentation of the
Vera Hansen Purchase Award
was presented to junior art major Kimberly Lyle for her work, Nip it in the Bud.
