DeLand, FL -– Dr. Randall Hansen, Stetson University associate professor of
marketing, and his wife, Katharine,
who has also taught at Stetson, have established a $750 purchase award for student artwork.
The first-ever winner of the award is senior art major Shaun Preston for his work, "Treating My Obsession."
Called the Quintessential Art of Business Purchase Award, after their Web
business, Quintessential Careers, it is one of the show’s top awards. The winning
artwork will become part of the university’s permanent collection, and will be
displayed in the newly renovated Lynn Business Center. “We wanted to give back
to the university,” said Katharine Hansen, creative director of Quintessential Careers.
“This award enables us to celebrate Quintessential Careers’ Stetson roots in two
ways -– by providing the newly revamped Lynn Business Center with culturally
enriching artwork and by supporting Stetson’s art students through purchasing their
work for permanent display in the Lynn Center.”
Dr. Paul Dascher, Dean of the School of Business Administration, was on hand to accept the artwork for
the Lynn Business Center, to congratulate the winning artist, and to join the Hansens in the
Quintessential Careers anniversary celebrations.

six years ago. (Read more.)
They are marking its anniversary with several special events, which
began with the gift of their popular book, Write Your Way to a Higher GPA, to all
of Stetson’s first-year business students.

The events will culminate in a Dec. 4 panel of Stetson graduates who will serve
as a “Real World Panel” to advise current students about job hunting and life
after graduation. A career networking event will follow the pannel discussion.
