Job-seekers Need Not Struggle to Find Tools to Prepare for Interviews
Summary: Research shows job-seekers who actively prepare for job interviews
perform better in job interivews. In response to these needs, Quintessential Careers has
expanded its no-cost interviewing tools and resources, including doubling it interview question database.
(QUINTESSENTIAL CAREERS: DeLand, FL) -- Most career experts agree that few job interviewees
prepare adequately for interviews; authors Barone and Switzer go so far as to note that, while college
students spend in excess of 4,000 hours studying and attending class to prepare for their career, the
average interviewee spends less than an hour preparing for a job interview. Making more tools available
to help job-seekers prepare for interviews is the motivation, the publishers said, behind adding several
new resources to Quintessential Careers, (http://www.quintcareers.com/), an online career-development site.
"Lack of preparation is a significant issue in job-seeker's lack of success in acing job interviews," said
Quintessential Careers' Founder and Publisher, Dr. Randall S. Hansen. "However, with recent studies
suggesting that candidates are doing more to prepare than in the past, we wanted to ensure that
prospective job-interviewees have plenty of material to help them prepare."
The site has added new interviewing tips
at http://www.quintcareers.com/tips/interviewing/, along with
five new articles related to interviewing
(http://www.quintcareers.com/latest.html).
The most significant addition is eight new Practice Interviews, interactive question sets that enable users
to practice writing responses to frequently asked interview questions -- for both experienced job-seekers as
well as recent college graduates -- and receive via e-mail a set of excellent responses for each.
"Many career experts recommend composing written responses to interview questions as a way to prepare
for interviews," said Quintessential Careers' Associate Publisher Dr. Katharine Hansen. "We've conducted
research that strongly suggests that composing responses in writing helps interviewees solidify effective
answers in their minds so they won't be caught off guard in the interview, making them sound exceptionally
confident and prepared."
In addition to the Practice Interviews, Quintessential Careers offers the 150 questions from the
Practice Interviews, along with sample excellent responses, at
Interview Question & Response Database: http://tinyurl.com/5d63w.
As with all the other tools and resources on Quintessential Careers, there is no cost for these new interviewing
tools, said Hansen.
The new sets of Practice Interviews, which all underwent beta-testing before publication, include:
A set of Personality Interview Questions is currently in beta-testing and will be published soon, the publishers said.
