Whereas, 2006 marks the 10th Anniversary of Quintessential Careers, a website first founded by Dr. Randall Hansen to offer career and job-search advice; and Whereas, Dr. Hansen became involved in a book project with his wife that looked at careers and job-hunting from a whole new perspective. He found that the more successful job-seekers were those who used important marketing tools and techniques to sell themselves as the best candidates to prospective employers; and Whereas, his vision to empower people seeking jobs began by conducting workshops on the Stetson University campus. With the development of the world of web publishing, he established a website on the Stetson server. From that point, and over the next 10 years he expanded his services to what it is today; and Whereas, the mission of Quintessential Careers is to provide the motivation to people to achieve their educational goals, find their true career passion and to empower people to obtain their ideal job; and Whereas, what started in 1996 as a website with about 50 pages of content has become an Internet powerhouse with almost 3,000 pages of career and job search advice. Now, therefore, I, Robert F. Apgar, Mayor of the City of DeLand do hereby proclaim Friday, November 3, 2006 as Quintessential Careers Day in the City of DeLand and urge all citizens to congratulate Dr. Randall Hansen on the 10th anniversary of his website. We wish him continued success in providing comprehensive career advice to teens, college students and graduates, careers changers and senior executives. Done and proclaimed this 3rd day of November 2006. Seen all the proclamations presented to Quintessential Careers?
