Career Site Expands; Adds Job Interview Database, Practice Job Interviews
(DeLand, FL) -- Searching for a new job is never an easy task. Finding a job in the current uncertain economic conditions is even harder. A leading career-oriented Website has added several new features and enhancements to help all job-seekers in their quest for a new job or a new career.
Quintessential Careers (http://www.quintcareers.com/), has added two new job interview features that are designed to help job-seekers master the critical job interview. The "interview question database" contains questions and answers to 109 typical traditional and behavioral job interview questions that employers ask of job-seekers. The "practice interview" section is a chance for job-seekers to write responses to common interview questions and compare their answers to sample excellent responses.
These are just some of the latest features added to Quintessential Careers in celebration of its fifth anniversary on the Internet, as it begins its sixth year of operations. The comprehensive career development and job-hunting site, run by Dr. Randall S. Hansen, associate professor of marketing at Stetson University, DeLand, FL, focuses on helping both younger job-seekers and established job-seekers in their quests for new jobs or new careers.
"Our mission is to be the ultimate career, job, and college site, offering free expert career and job-hunting advice -- through articles, tools, tips, and tutorials, as well as links to all the best job sites," Hansen states. "And while we are always updating and improving the site, we try and add a really big career tool for our anniversary in November."
"QuintCareers.com is the first place to start a job search. It provides essential direction to finding opportunities categorized by industry, location, job seeker characteristics and other factors key to whittling down the enormous quantity of data available to job seekers using the Internet," states Debra Feldman, of JobWhiz.Net, Riverside, CT.
"It's one of the best career-oriented sites I've seen, especially in terms of its design and organization," states Peter Vogt, a career counselor and career development writer and president of Career Planning Resources in Eden Prairie, MN.
Quintessential Careers publishes articles, tutorials, samples, and tests and quizzes on all aspects of job-hunting; includes resources for teens through older adults looking for information about college, jobs, and careers; and provides links to the best job sites, where job-seekers can search for jobs and/or post their resumes, categorized by job-seeker, industry, and location. A free biweekly electronic newsletter, QuintZine, keeps subscribers current on college, career, and job-hunting trends while listing all the latest additions to the site.
Quintessential Careers has garnered awards too numerous to mention (more than 100). Some of our proudest accomplishments, however, include our listing as one of the best Websites in the book, America's Top Internet Job Sites; inclusion in CareerXRoads: The Directory to Job, Resume, and Career Management Sites on the Web (2000, 2001, 2002); inclusion in the Web version of Forbes Best of the Web, Personal Finance & Careers: Job-Hunting; and designation as a USA Today Hot Site.
Throughout its five years on the Web, Quintessential Careers has strived to be a job-seeker's one convenient source for just about all career information, offering expert advice on all aspects of job-hunting, including tips, resources, and examples to help job-seekers write a better resume and cover letter; information to help be better prepared for job interviews; techniques for negotiating higher salaries; strategies for successfully changing careers; as well as advice and resources for returning to college and/or attending graduate school.
Quintessential Careers is the main site in a network of career-related sites, including: MyCareerBlast.com, CareerDoctor.org, and ResumesandCoverLetters.com, among others.
Besides teaching marketing at Stetson University and serving as Webmaster of Quintessential Careers and publisher of QuintZine, Hansen also writes a biweekly advice column under the name The Career Doctor (http://www.careerdoctor.org/), and is co-author of the cover letter bible, Dynamic Cover Letters, now in its third edition.
