Career Site Adds Job Interviewing Tutorial & Quiz
(DeLand, FL) -- Mastering the job interview gets a little easier for job-seekers with the introduction of the "Job Interviewing Tutorial," a free Web-based 50+ page guide that focuses on preparation and strategy. A companion job interviewing quiz tests job-seekers' knowledge of the process.
These are just some of the latest features added to Quintessential Careers in celebration of the beginning of its fifth year on the Internet. The Web-based career development and job-hunting resources guide, run by Dr. Randall S. Hansen, associate professor of marketing at Stetson University, DeLand, FL, can be found at http://www.quintcareers.com.
"We are constantly adding new material and resources to the site," Hansen states, "but we always try to add something really big for our anniversary. These interviewing resources will help the novice job-seeker learn the ins and outs of interviewing while sharpening the focus of experienced job-seekers."
The interviewing tutorial joins a list of other free career and job-related tutorials published on the Quintessential Careers site, including tutorials about job search basics, cover letters, resumes, informational interviewing, salary negotiation, and Internet job-hunting.
Described as "A truly comprehensive career development [site]... This may be the best organized career site I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them!" states career expert Janet Scarborough.
Quintessential Careers publishes articles, tutorials, samples, and tests and quizzes on all aspects of job-hunting; includes resources for teens through older adults looking for information about college, jobs, and careers; and provides links to the best job sites, where job-seekers can search for jobs and/or post their resumes, categorized by job-seeker, industry, and location. A free biweekly electronic newsletter, QuintZine, keeps subscribers current on college, career, and job-hunting trends while listing all the latest additions to the site.
Quintessential Careers has won more than 100 awards and honors from the Internet community. It has been named one of five Web sites recommended by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Outlook Quarterly in an article about resumes and cover letters and was recently included in the Web version of Forbes Best of the Web, Personal Finance & Careers: Job-Hunting.
Besides teaching marketing at Stetson University and serving as Webmaster of Quintessential Careers and publisher of QuintZine, Hansen also writes a biweekly advice column under the name The Career Doctor, and is co-author of the cover letter bible, Dynamic Cover Letters, soon to be in its third edition.
