New Job Quiz Tests Knowledge of Job-Hunting
(DeLand, FL) -- How much do
you think you know about looking for a new job? Test your knowledge with
the job quiz developed by a nationally known author, Webmaster, and professor
of marketing. Experts and novices alike will enjoy the challenge and information
provided by the quiz.
"The quiz contains general
questions about job-hunting, as well as specific questions about cover
letters, resumes, and interviewing," states Dr. Randall Hansen, co-author
of Dynamic Cover Letters
(Ten Speed Press), Webmaster of
Quintessential Careers,
and associate professor of marketing at Stetson University, DeLand, FL.
"And while the quiz consists of only 15 questions, it really covers the
spectrum of job-hunting, including job-hunting on the Internet." The job
quiz can be found on the Quintessential Careers Website at:
http://www.quintcareers.com/job_quiz.html.
The job quiz is just one
of several new additions and changes to this career and job-hunting resources
guide, which is celebrating its third anniversary on the Web in November.
"I never knew when I was starting this Website that it would grow to become
so popular or that I would still be doing this three years later," Hansen
says. "I think of Quintessential Careers as a portal for all college, career,
and job information and resources. I started Quintessential Careers with
the goal of helping all job seekers to better understand the job-hunting
process and to provide people with as many resources -- both on and off
the Net -- as possible to help them in their quest for better jobs or new
careers."
Besides the job quiz, other
anniversary additions to the career site include special sections for former
military personnel making the transition to the civilian workforce, mature
job-seekers searching for new jobs or careers, and employers looking for
help and resources in the recruitment process. Mainstays of the site include
articles and tutorials, job resources by industry, geography and job-seeker
classification, as well as many other resources and tools for people seeking
new careers and jobs. Special sections exist for teens and college students,
since their needs and goals are different from those of other job-seekers.
Quintessential Careers has
won more than 100 awards and honors from the Internet community, including:
Real Life Resources Award, Adguide’s Gold Award for Internet Excellence,
USA Today Hot Site, Career X Roads 500 Best, Look Smart Editor’s
Choice, 4anything.com’s Editor’s Choice, and World Village Family Site
of the Day. It was recently one of five Web sites recommended by the U.S.
Department of Labor’s Occupational Outlook Quarterly (Summer 1999)
in an article about resumes and cover letters.
